This is what I like to think is my best poem. I can't remember, now, exactly what prompted me to write it, but write it I did, seeking to write a poem that put me - and the reader - in a situation other than their own, one which might make one turn to the words of Psalm 23:4, "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me." Whether this goal was actually achieved is another story, but maybe it's as good as I'd like to think. Maybe. Anyway, enjoy!
